June 1942 - Hitler's invasion of Stalingrad, code-named Operation Blue, was launched.
August 23, 1942 - Germany began offensive to capture Stalingrad.
November 19, 1942 - Red army launched Operation Uranus targeting Romanian and Hungarian forces which were protecting the German army.
November--January - Hitler ordered troops to remain in Stalingrad. Germany would try to send supplies by air, and Frederich von Mastien would attempt a rescue.
February 2, 1943 - Axis had no more supplies, General Frederich Paulus surrendered.
