Stalin's Rise To Power |
He was arrested in 1902, and was sent to Siberia. From the beginning of the civil war, Stalin was political commissar on behalf of the Bolshevik armies, therefore he was occupied with military duties. In 1903 the Social Democratic Party split into two: the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks. Stalin went to the Bolsheviks. In 1912 Lenin made Stalin a part of the Bolshevik party Central Committee.
The start of his evil campaign was when he removed Leon Trotsky from the Soviet Union, then called for him to be eliminated in 1940. Stalin ordered the collectivization of farms. Peasants resisted, then Stalin seized the land and their possessions. |
The End Of Stalin |
Stalin died in 1953 after having two wives who both died. People tried to remove the virtual presence of Stalin. For example his name was taken off public buildings and streets. And Stalingrad was renamed Volgograd.
